According to the INEGI, the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the air transport sector in Mexico, during 2019, had reached its maximum peak with 43 thousand 234 million Mexican pesos, but as of 2021 it decreased.
The appearance of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) has managed to be a particular point in the sights of public opinion.
On this occasion the “AIFAtour” was announced, a tour made by ADO, where the Mammoth Museum will be toured.
The Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) gave the starting signal for the new Turitour route to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) and its museums; “AIFAtour” plans to promote a diversification of the tourist product in the hands of ADO.
In a conference, the head of the Sectur, Miguel Torruco Marqués, commented that this route will enrich the tourist offer of Mexico City and the State of Mexico, in addition to helping to increase the flow of travelers and their economic impact.
However, as of July 29, the AIFA had only registered 21 international flights, so the “AIFAtour” is expected to be a strategy to attract customers to the flights and bring people closer to the area from a different angle.
Let us remember that the airport industry proclaims itself essential to ensure continued economic growth around the world, since it directly supports import, export and tourism revenues, figures that were seen in a historic decline with the legacy of the pandemic.
According to the INEGI the annual gross domestic product (GDP) of the air transport sector in Mexico, during 2019, this had reached its maximum peak by attaching the figure of 43 thousand 234 million Mexican pesos; however, during 2020 it registered only 19,533, representing a drop of more than 50 percent.
Taking into account the amount of income that airports are able to feed into their interiors and exteriors, the appearance of Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) It has managed to be a particular point in the public opinion’s sights, since since its appearance this has presented some situations that have not been to everyone’s liking, as well as criticism for its architecture.
“AIFAtour”, from ADO, will arrive at AIFA
The AIFA now arrives in a partnership with MOBILITY ADOa global company founded in Mexico that focuses on mobility with a presence on two continents through its Mobility for Tourism division. MOBILITY ADO has developed new products and services led by its brands: Turibus and ADO.
The tour to the AIFA is not the only one that will arrive soon, as an ADO Turibus is also planned in Tamaulipas with the presentation of the City Tours that will visit the cities of Tampico, Altamira and Madero. Likewise, the thematic experience of Turiteatrowhich is added to a differentiated proposal to live the cities from recreational activities.
But in this case, the tourist service will depart from Mexico City to the new air terminal, where tourists can enjoy a tour of the airport facilities and visits to the various museums built in the Military City.
At a press conference, Miguel Torruco, Secretary of Tourism, highlighted the cultural offer offered by the AIFA and the attraction represented by the exhibitions of more than 50,000 pieces of various bone remains found in the former Santa Lucía hacienda, as well as a tour of the various facets of the Mexican Air Force.
“With this new route we are promoting tourism in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, promoting, in turn, the tourist-cultural image of the recently inaugurated Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), an emblematic work of the current administration, and whose facilities, since its launch, have been visited by thousands of people a week, who have been pleasantly surprised by its infrastructure”, emphasized Torruco Marqués.
The Turitourde ADO al AIFA will start operating next Saturday, July 23 and in a first stage it will have tours starting at 10:00 a.m. from the National Auditorium, the Angel of Independence, the Reforma 222 shopping center, the Glorieta de Colón, the Hemiciclo a Juárez and the Zócalo.
The cost of the trip will be around 899 pesos for children and 999 pesos for adults, with food included.
As we can see, tourism contributes to the complete growth and development of a project: one, providing numerous values and economic benefits; and, second, helping to build the value, image and identity of the brand, in this case AIFA, but only time will tell how much traffic is generated with this type of proposal.
