Although it seemed that everything was stopped in favor of a possible location in Italy, the Tesla factory project in Cheste (Valencia) continues. At least that is extracted from the latest movements of local and regional administrations. As pointed out in The Spanish, the municipality of Cheste has already begun the process of expropriation of the land on which it would be located. And do not confirm with that, the Generalitat of Valencia has modified the regulation to not advertise the project.
In this way, and with the land of the supposed Tesla factory outside the public exhibition of the Strategic Territorial Project, part of the company’s claims are fulfilled, which did not view favorably the publicity given to the factory in its initial leaks. In fact, it was part of the reasons why many voices pointed to its discard.
Logically, there is no express mention of Tesla in any of the administrative movements that have been launched on those Cheste lands. And officially it is an expropriation process to carry out a unification of the industrial space, where the Tesla factory would later be located.
Valencia is the perfect hub for Tesla and the electric car
The launch of the Tesla factory is key to the industrial future of the region, which has made a strong commitment to the electric car, and which already is from the point of view of the traditional car, making it a very interesting for the entire automotive industry. In fact, last year the regional government announced the launch of Valencian Battery Alliancean organization made up of 23 international companies and academic institutions.
Among the multiple companies that make up the organization are: fordIberdrola, UBE, Stadler, Zeleros, Nutai, IDOM, Endurance Motive, CEV Technologies, Ampere Energy, Inelcom Technology, ITERA Mobility Engineering, HESS, INFAMOL, Endurance, Astondoa, Fácil Solutions, Grupo Valautomoción, Grupo Segura, Grupo Gimeno, Witrac , Torrecid, Itera, Witrac and Mettecno.
All of this, added to the possibility of a company benefiting from European funds, as well as the injection provided by PERTE, make Valencia an ideal destination for this. Now, with the land in the hands of the Cheste town council, the path for Testá is completely ready. The next step? The first stone of the gigafactory.
