At the end of May, the embassy in cooperation with Startup México and Tech7, an NGO specialized in coaching entrepreneurs, launched an Israel-Mexico Acceleration Program to support the development of technology companies in the country.
“Together they are proposing solutions to large companies here in Mexico —such as Grupo Salinas—, outside the box, that is, they are not employees of these companies and that is why they have a slightly different safeguard,” Tal explained.
Close political and economic cooperation
On the political issue, both countries carry out consultations, which means that the highest level in both ministries of foreign affairs exchange dialogues on different issues, including political, economic and technological cooperation.
“On the economic issue we have a joint commission that was held in 2021 and reviews the free trade agreement to analyze the implementation, operation and examine the possibility of including new issues in the agreement or still eliminating barriers in bilateral trade,” he clarified. Zvi Tal.
There is also tourism. For example, the young Israelis who perform their military service in two geographical areas where they are going to explore places: on the one hand there is the area of India, Nepal and on the other, South America, Mexico and the entire American continent.
“It is no coincidence that in recent years we have had an increase in Israeli tourists arriving in Mexico, mainly in the entire part of the Riviera Maya, but also in other places,” emphasized Zvi Tal.
