Paralympic athletes from Mexico continue to harvest medals in Tokyo 2020. This morning –Japan afternoon–, Diego López won gold in the 50-meter free S3 swim.
With this medal, the Mexican delegation accumulates six golds, two more than in Rio 2016 and the same number of gold metals in London 2012.
In addition, Diego López’s gold is number 15 for Mexico in the current contest, which places the country in 20th place on the medal table.
Other Mexicans were close to winning medals on this day also in the para-swimming: Fabiola Ramírez came in fourth place in the final of 50m back S2 and Ángel Camacho also finished fourth in the 50m freestyle S4.

On the other hand, Ángeles Ortiz was close to the medals by finishing fourth in the F57 shot put.
