Instagram is testing a new vertical scrolling feed for its Stories in Turkey and Brazil. This will put the control in an opposite way, thus rivaling Reels (which belongs to Instagram itself) and TikTok. Instagram claimed in February 2021 that it was working on vertical scrolling Stories. Until now, Stories have been horizontally scrollable.
Now, with a vertical scroll, you can go from the Story of a user you follow to that of another, while a horizontal swipe will toggle between different Stories from the same user.
It is not clear when the new one will arrive Stories scrolling method, and even if it is sure to arrive. At this point, Instagram may just be A/B testing and decide not to roll out the feature entirely.

In any case, stories are a fundamental part of Instagram, so they will continue to work hard to develop it.
