As of November 2021, the satellite internet service could already be reserved in Mexico, but, although the monthly service fee remains unchanged, the equipment rental did have an increase.
Until now, users had to pay 11,579 pesos for the reservation of the antenna and the installation kit. But due to a series of factors, Starlink was forced to increase the price.
How much did the price of Starlink increase in Mexico?
The price to set aside and rent the equipment did increase by 2,721 pesos. Now, the cost for renting the Starlink equipment will be 14,300 pesos, instead of the 11,579 pesos it cost last year.
But prices that remain the same as in 2021 are as follows:
Shipping and handling: 1,420 pesos
Monthly plan: 2,299 pesos
Deposit to be paid when making the reservation: 2,299 pesos
Why did your cost go up?
Elon Musk’s company informed its users that the price of the service would rise due to the effect of “increasing inflation”. In the United States, the increase was greater, because now, for the rental of the antenna, customers will pay 599 dollars, instead of 499.
And not only that, the monthly subscription went from costing $99 to $110.
