They find in Bosque de Chapultepec a cemetery from the early viceroyalty period
The INAH located skeletal remains of 21 people in the Bosque de Chapultepec. Some of the bodies were buried according to the Catholic tradition and others in the Mesoamerican way, from which they deduced that it is a cemetery from the viceregal era.
The coordinator of the archaeological rescue, María de Lourdes López, recalled that, in 2005, her colleague María Guadalupe Espinosa excavated a pantheon with burials of the same temporality, in a section of the atrium of the church of the Indian village of San Miguel Chapultepec, in the vicinity of the Garden of the Lions, in the First Section of the forest, but there was no reference to the recently discovered cemetery.
