The mediatic case of the theft of 45 of the best bottles of wine in the world atrium restaurant, which occurred in October 2021, already has a sentence. The Provincial Court of Cáceres has sentenced the man to four years and six months in prison and the woman to four years, both accused of the crime.
The magistrates consider the couple formed by Constantine Dumitru and Priscilla Lara Guevara as authors responsible for a crime of robbery with force in an establishment open to the public of special gravity. In addition to prison sentences, they must compensate with 753,454 euros to the insurance company Reale, which had already reached an agreement with the restaurant itself after the robbery, and for which its owners, the chef José Toño Pérez and his partner José Polo, were already compensated, with the value signed by the expert Roberto Nebreda.
According to the ruling, the Court consider the facts proven of which they are accused, who agreed “with the purpose of obtaining an illicit benefit”. Below is the succession of events that recounts the meticulous plan that both concocted to deceive and distract the staff of the hotel where the restaurant and its prestigious winery are located, which culminated in the theft of 45 bottles by the accused at dawn, the couple hastily leaving the premises around 5:00 in the morning.
The trial had been seen for sentencing last Wednesday, although said sentence is not final and against it there may still be a appeal before the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura.
