The social court number 1 of A Coruña has dismissed the lawsuit filed by Joseph Leyte, former manager of estate of Sandra Ortega for two decades, against Rosp Corunna and Rosp Corunna Participaciones Empresariales, the two investment vehicles that bring together the fortune of the richest woman in Spain.
Leyte denounced Sandra Ortega for unfair dismissal in 2020, requested reincorporation to his usual job and demanded the payment of a settlement that stipulated 941,000 euros.
The Ortega’s former manager assured in his claim that his role in the holding company corresponded to the category of labor staff common reason why they could not fire him for simple withdrawal from the company. Something that is allowed in senior management contracts. In the 22-page resolution, Judge Ana María Souto did not accept this argument since, according to the sentence, it was proven that Leyte had executive functions.
