Samsung has presented a new series of televisions for its high-end line at the CES in Las Vegas: the Neo QLED 8K and 4K, which now receive new AI features, a slightly renewed design and different modes and options to improve the viewing experience. The company has also launched new Micro LED TVs and new OLED televisions with a wider range of inches and different improvements.
Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K series is, without a doubt, the most interesting novelty for one particular reason: its new AI chip. The South Korean firm has presented the NQ8 AI Gen. 3 processorwhich includes a neural processing unit (NPU) twice as fast as that of its predecessor and, therefore, allows for new improvements in image quality.
One of them is 8K AI Upscaling Pro, which offers 8K upscaling for content that is not displayed in this resolution. Samsung has also included a mode called AI Motion Enhancer Prowhich is designed for sports and offers an improvement in the image quality of small moving objects, such as a soccer ball.
The new Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs also improve their design with a new base that simulates that the television is floating in the air. Of course, it includes the rest of the improvements from previous versions, such as the one for sound that intensifies conversations and separates them from background noise to understand dialogue more easily.
Samsung updates its Micro LED and OLED TVs with new features
The range Micro LED Samsung has also been updated with new models that cover a much wider range of sizes, reaching from 79 to 114 inches. The company has also presented a new transparent Micro LED technology that is capable of improving image brightness and even creating 3D effects that can almost simulate a hologram.
On the other hand, televisions OLED from Samsung now arrive with new screen sizes, with 48, 77 and 83 inch options. The panel technology is also improved, including one that is capable of reducing screen reflections. The brightness of OLED TVs is also increased by up to 20% compared to last year’s models.
In parallel, Samsung has presented different news for Tizen, its operating system for TVs. One of them is Samsung TV Plus, a new interface to check useful information at a glance when you are not watching television, such as information about the weather, health issues, etc.
Related to health, Samsung has also announced a new service called Samsung Daily+. This includes sections with a real-time exercise mode that collects training data from devices, such as the Galaxy Watch, the possibility of watching training videos or video consultations with veterinarians in real time.
