The renowned card game that emerged from anime and manga already has a new title for smartphones: Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. We tested it on the Moto G200 and tell you how Duel Time is in this review!
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is now available on cell phones from the hand of Konami. An ideal proposal for fans of the series and experienced regulars of this trading card game. Ranked games, solo mode to practice and get to know the functions, many packs or cards to acquire and the occasional inconvenience of loading times or connections make this product quite a challenge, especially for novices. Will there be an ace up his sleeve or will there be no choice but to shuffle and start over? We explain it to you in this review through the Moto G200!
It’s duel time!
The essence of the game system Yu-Gi-Oh! has been known for quite a few years: two players face off with their respective decks of cards (themed or custom), with cards that include monsters, spells, or traps, all with various properties and effects. Even the beasts or characters can be used in offensive or defensive mode, depending on our strategy when using their attack or life points. The first player who manages to leave the rival’s life points to zero (8000 base) is declared the winner of the combat.
In the case of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelafter a tutorial with the most essential information and the choice of an initial deck among three alternatives, you can now start dueling against other people from all over the world, but it is not the most recommended for beginners due to the complexity of this version.
They call us to the game!
The main axis in this title are the encounters RRP, which are based on qualifiers or ranking, divided into categories through which you advance based on the results (you don’t go down when you lose, which is important). The pairing is usually level: for example, the same rank is always respected (bronze, silver, etc.) but the division may not be the same (V, IV, III, II, I). As triumphs are achieved, the positions are climbed and the profile level is raised, in addition to the current battle pass.
For the most inexperienced, there is a solo game section, which contains categories in which to learn based on tips and practices. In turn, these are separated into instances or levels, which reward us with experience, cards or other objects when we overcome them.
Another way is the casual duel, to face friends or strangers in shared rooms. There is also a sector for events, momentarily without content.
victory cards
The assembly of the decks is very varied and depends on certain factors. The main one is the use of gems that are obtained in the season pass and by completing objectives. In the store there are packages that can be purchased individually or in batches of ten, very similar to the current ones gachapon. In them there are cards that are separated into categories of rarity (UR, SR, R, N) and scores that indicate their impact in combat. Another source to get these units is through the aforementioned solo mode.
The decks can be edited (thematic ones or the basic one) or created from scratch, even those of other users who make them publicly known can even be copied. However, you must have all its components in order to replicate it.
A play with hits and misses
The strong point of this TCG it is his focus on the most experienced of this universe, with the characteristic rules, cards and systems for a higher competitive level. Most likely new players or others with long inactivity have a hard time adapting, since from the start they can fight against people with much stronger decks and suffer painful defeats. That’s why you have to appeal to Solo or watch some tutorials on the Internet to prepare in the most optimal way.
But not everything is rosy, because at the time of the games there are some long loading times between phases or disconnections that can end in quick defeats or triumphs. Beyond that, the matchmaking is fast and can be started without further delay, with cross-play between smartphones and PCs.
The animations do not stand out too much, even with the avatars or scenarios that can be purchased in the store, as well as moments such as fusions or summons. The controls are as simple as interacting with the touch with the cards and the buttons to advance in turns.
How does it feel in the Moto G200?
the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ Octa core the Moto G200 It guarantees you games with fluid animations and without the device being overheated by the demand, which is also minimal. Conclusions
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel It is an ideal proposal for fans of the franchise, with the search for a competitive level as an objective and many options to achieve the best results. Aspects such as a more pleasant inclusion of new users and issues of loading times or connection drops remain to be optimized. The addition of events will likely add more variety to the currently sparse ranked, casual, or solo modes. It’s a matter of shuffling again and polishing those details!
