Take note! The National Development Plan “Colombia, World Power of Life” included the program Citizen Incomewhich was proposed by the National government. After being discussed and approved by the Congress of the Republic, the program was managed by Social Prosperity, in charge of distributing the benefits. The objective of the program is to provide adequate income to households in situations of extreme poverty, moderate poverty and vulnerability, so that they can satisfy their basic food needs and achieve economic independence and access to the fundamental rights of education and health.
The program will be implemented at the national level and special attention will be given to the 466 prioritized municipalities according to the hunger map. Higher amounts will be awarded to families with children under the age of six who live in very high priority municipalities.
Program payments will benefit a greater number of families in the following departments: Antioquia with 169,817 households, Bolívar with 156,032, Córdoba with 137,555, Valle del Cauca with 126,792, Atlántico with 108,326, Santander with 101,185, and Nariño with 100,790.
Since when has the Citizen Income payment been delivered?
As of Saturday, April 29, Prosperidad Social began to distribute the transfer from Transit to Renta Ciudadana. The first payments will be made in stages through Banco Agrario, and more than 2 million households will receive these resources until May 28. In total, the program will benefit 3.3 million families.
Among the households that will receive the approved transfer, there are 549,133 that have been identified as victims of displacement and 167,056 are indigenous households. Regarding the first payment, the National Government has assigned a total of 796,435 million pesos ($796,435,200,000).
How can you collect Citizen Income?
The operational details of the program, such as the delivery modality (banked and draft), the payment points, the bill and the card to make the payment, among others, are available on the Social Prosperity website. Likewise, the information can also be consulted in the municipal mayors’ offices.
There are various modalities available for the delivery of the transfer, including electronic transfer, payment to bank savings accounts, extended boxes, digital wallet, and transfers through various allies. The holder of the transfer will receive a text message from the corresponding bank with the notification and the link to consult the collection point assigned according to their identity document and if they have a bill and card to collect.

How much is the Citizen Income payment?
The objective of the Tránsito a Renta Ciudadana program is to ensure that beneficiary families obtain sufficient income to overcome the poverty line. The transfer is made every two months and can be up to 1 million pesos, depending on factors such as household composition, classification in the Sisbén group, territorial prioritization, and compliance with program obligations. Beneficiary households can calculate the approximate amount of the transfer they will receive using the “My Calculator” tool.
