7-Eleven charges a consumer 10 pesos to use microwaves, but he rejects the fee and decides to “punish” the brand.
On Twitter, the 7-Eleven CM responded, stating that the use of the device is only for products purchased in the store.
10 pesos fee for using the microwave at 7-Eleven is rejected by consumerwho, in revenge, decides to “punish” the brand.
What years ago, in past decades, we knew as “little corner stores”, has now become a couple of powerful chains that, as if that were not enough, grow day by day.
Currently, it is practically impossible not to go out and find stores like Oxxo or 7-Eleven everywherealmost on every corner, and above all full of consumers.
Today’s reality dictates that, for grocery stores or “corner stores”, competing with these establishments represents a great challenge in a society that has become accustomed to hyper-consumption.
On the other hand, we are talking about stores where the consumer can find everything, from basic products such as bread, water, soft drinks, etc., to mobile recharge services, cash withdrawals, among many more.
Consumer refuses to pay 10 pesos to use a microwave at 7-Eleven
However, the experience at Oxxo and 7-Eleven is not limited to the simple sale of productsbut, on some occasions, the consumer takes the opportunity to heat their food, using the establishment’s microwave.
Of course, we are talking about a niche made up of workers who, during their lunch hours, take the opportunity to buy certain products and, incidentally, heat their food.
In this sense, there are stores in which the service is available at no cost, although there are cases in which the service is denied or even a specific fee is charged for it. In the end, it seems that it is the decision of each establishment.
From this perspective, there is a complaint filed on Twitter that is called attention, and it is that, according to what is read in the post, the consumer does not accept that 7-Eleven charges him 10 pesos for using the microwave and less when, according to what he mentions, he made purchases of 70 pesos in the store.
The apparent annoyance of the consumer reached such a degree that, at the end of his tweet, he sentenced as a punishment: “Last time I shop at a 7-Eleven.”
Not MMS @7ElevenMexico How the hell are you going to charge 10 pesos to use the microwave if we’re buying you drinks and cookies. Last time I shop at a #7eleven ??

The brand, through its Community Manager, responded to the user’s complaint, stating that the use of the microwave has no cost, but that, in case of using it, it is only allowed to heat products that have been bought in the store.
The microwave can only be used for products purchased inside the store. It is free of charge and other products cannot be heated. Sorry for the disturbances.

The tweet sparked a slight debate among netizens.since the consumer claims that, when making a purchase of 70 pesos in the store, he would expect to be allowed to use the microwave at no cost, although the response of the brand on social networks seems to be very clear.
In the end, it seems that each establishment has its own rules inside, as it happened in Oxxo with a consumer who was not wearing a face mask and, in the end, the employee ended up paying the consequences.
In some stores, both Oxxo and 7-Eleven, the use of face masks is no longer necessary to access them, but each establishment has its own statutes; however, there are consumers who are bothered that they are not allowed to pass if they do not wear their mask.
It should be noted that it only reflects the opinion of the consumer and the conversation that it generates in the digital pulse, so Merca 2.0 requested the position of the brand in order to tell both sides of the story; however, so far it has not been received. The note will be updated in case of a response.
