You probably know Qualcomm by the Snapdragon processors that some of the main manufacturers include in their smartphones. The American company, however, is much more than that. Qualcomm also makes 5G chips that are even present in iPhones, or platforms for mixed reality and augmented reality viewers, as well as for computers. In this last product category, however, the company wants to go even further, and intends to do so with a new series of processors for smart PCs: the Snapdragon.
Qualcomm, for the moment, has not confirmed which processors will arrive under the new Snapdragon it states that these platforms “will offer next-level performance, artificial intelligence, connectivity and battery life” on computers. Qualcomm also highlights that these new chips will take advantage of the Qualcomm Oryon CPU, and that they will be combined with the NPU that the company has developed, which will be crucial to be able to execute generative AI tasks on the computer.
The Snapdragon X series will also debut a new corporate design. Qualcomm claims that the processors new logos and insignia will be integrated. It will, however, maintain the iconic Snapdragon fireball, although with a different aesthetic.
Qualcomm will reveal more details about the Snapdragon X at the Snapdragon Summit
Qualcomm emphasizes that it will offer more details about the Snapdragon X series at the Snapdragon Summit, the company’s annual conference that will take place from October 24 to 26 in Maui, Hawaii.
During the Snapdragon Summit, the company will also announce the next generation of its processor for high-end smartphones, the Snadpragon 8 Gen 3. Recently, Qualcomm also introduced the Snapdragon
