These days the Xbox GamePass has become a cause of controversy, as they have dedicated themselves to creating entire articles to talk about why some users have canceled their membership. After these comments, people have come out to defend this service, assuring that it is a good space for somewhat small developers.
One of the people who spoke on the subject was Mike Rosegame publisher descenders, who assures that the platform is not something bad for developers, but rather the opposite. Since there is a greater opportunity for distribution, and thus many of the games gain popularity thanks to being found on the service.
I’ve said this before, but:
Game Pass is guaranteeing success for dozens of devs every single month, by paying them their entire dev costs (and then some) on day 1
Anyone tweeting “Game Pass is bad for devs” has zero clue about how this industry works and should get in a bin 👍

Normally you release a game, it costs X to make it, and you hope your game + marketing is good enough to get X back, so you can start making a profit.
If you’re on Game Pass, chances are you instantly did X on launch day
