Are you looking for a cheap mobile phone for a person who is not very demanding with technology? Xiaomi has the answer, for a change. On the eve of Black Friday, the company has presented a new affordable device belonging to the Poco family. His exact name is Little C65. And, after having debuted in other markets, it arrives in Spain with many options to be a sales success during these weeks of shopping and gifts.
The Poco C65 is not a mobile phone that stands out for its features or design. It is, simply, a mobile phone that fulfills its purpose. The heart, for example, is a MediaTek Helio G85, a well-known chipset in the sector that delivers enough performance to satisfy any basic user. This chipset, however, comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM, a generous amount for the range in which it is located.
In terms of storage, the Poco C65 will be marketed in two versions: 128GB and 256GB, good news considering the public it appeals to, which does not necessarily use cloud storage services to keep its documents, images or backup copies safe.
The screen, on the other hand, has a size of 6.74 inches, has LCD technology, a resolution of 1600 x 720 and a maximum brightness of 600 nits outdoors. It is a simple panel in which the highlight is its refresh rate, which is 90 Hz.
As far as the battery is concerned, good performance is expected from this Poco C65. The brand has incorporated a 5,000 mAh battery, a common capability among Android phones. Its recharge, on the other hand, is at a maximum of 18W, not very fast if compared to other Xiaomi proposals, although sufficient for most situations.
The main camera has 50 megapixels and an f/1.8 aperture lens. It is accompanied by a 2 megapixel resolution macro camera with an f/2.4 lens. The front, on the other hand, has 8 megapixels and an f/2.0 aperture lens. None of these cameras are brilliant, but they do do their job in a mobile phone that costs just over 100 euros.
The Poco C65 will go on sale in two versions: 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. They will be available on different channels and the prices are as follows:
- Version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage: 129 euros (149 euros after the promotional period).
- Version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage: 149 euros (169 euros after the promotional period).
The Poco C65 has the competition at home
The macroeconomic situation has led all telephone brands to raise the prices of their products, especially affecting the cheapest mobile phones. A few years ago it was easy to find various interesting mobile phones for just over 100 euros. Not now.
The Poco C65 is positioned right in that price range, which had been abandoned by all brands in the sector. It is not a brilliant mobile, nor is it the “bargain” mobile that we praised years ago, but those looking for an affordable product and whose essential requirement is that it be between 100 and 150 euros, will find this a great option.
There is only one exception to this statement. Xiaomi, these days, offers the Redmi Note 12 in its 4G version for 149 euros on its website. A product that surpasses the C65 in several aspects. I insist, however, that it is a promotional price.
The key question is: once the Black Friday campaign is over, will the Redmi Note 12 continue at that price? If the answer is yes, then the C65 will have a little more difficulty finding its place unless its price drops. But the logical thing is to think that it will not be like that and the Redmi Note 12 will rise in price again, giving oxygen to the C65, which It would then be the best option in its segment. In any case, the competition is at home, so Xiaomi has nothing to worry about.
