The veteran British daily Financial Times has included Mistral Coffee, from Palma (Majorca), among the 25 best independent coffee shops in the world. In the list, selected by different specialist authors of the newspaper, the Palma café shares honors with places in the most renowned capitals on the international coffee scene, such as London, Paris, New York, Tokyo or Berlin.
Mistral Coffee is located in full historic center from the city of Palma in a two-story space that also has its own coffee roaster and that follows the philosophy of the specialty coffee shops that have gained so much prominence in recent years since the so-called third wave of coffee exploded.
its founders Agata Mikulska and greg schuler they opened Mistral at the end of 2017 in a smaller location from which they soon managed to conquer quality coffee lovers in the city, both among locals and the many tourists who come to the island every year. Last summer they expanded the project with a wider space and better located, now spread over two floors and with a much more complete store.
The Financial Times highlights the special attention that has been paid in careful design of the new cafeteria, with terrazzo tables and touches of color, wooden floors and abundant succulent plants that generate a warm and homely atmosphere, combining the traditional with more contemporary airs.
The coffee, coming from selected grains of different origins of the world, 100% Arabica and ethical and sustainable cultivation and production, it is roasted daily, in small batches, thus guaranteeing a drink of maximum freshness, flavor and aroma. In their menu of recipes they offer different methods of preparation, with very popular fixed classics such as espresso tonic and others that change according to the season.
Mistral’s offer is completed with a menu of sweet and savory snacks to accompany coffee and other drinks, trying to offer local mallorcan ingredients of the highest quality, such as sourdough bread toasts with tomatoes from ramlet. In their online store you can buy many of their freshly roasted coffees, which they also distribute to other coffee shops even outside of Spain.
