The Saturday, October 16 more of 500 swimmers will meet on the paradisiac island of Formentera to participate in a new edition of the Marnaton eDreams Formentera by Baleària, which is held again after the forced break last year.
This will be the fourth test of the reference open water circuit season in our country. This time the event has three distances, all of them arriving at Es Pujols beach. The 8 km journey will start from the Poniente de Ses Illetes side, crossing the impressive Es Pas. The 4.5 km one will start from the Levante side of Ses Illetes, while the 2 km one, which offers an ideal setting for those who make their debut in open water, will start from Des Trucadors.
From the organization they have ensured that “we are looking forward to returning to Formentera to enjoy its impressive turquoise waters, its posidonia meadows and its white sand beaches. Whatever the level of the swimmers, it is certainly an idyllic location to enjoy open water swimming. ”
The month of October will be intense for Marnaton, since apart from the Formentera test on the 16th, on the 2nd it will celebrate the 20 km Big Swim between Port de la Selva and Cadaqués, on the 23rd the Swimrun eDreams Cap de Creus by HEAD and will close the season on October 30 with the Marnaton eDreams Barcelona by YoPRO. Some registrations are still available on the Marnaton website
Marnaton Solidarity
This season the Marnaton eDreams Cup collaborates with two social causes. On the one hand, as it did in 2020, the organization will raise funds in favor of Candela bracelets, through the platform My Grain of Sand, with the aim of collaborating with childhood cancer research.
On the other hand, and together with HEAD Swimming, Marnaton supports the association Superacció that works to promote social insertion through sports. In this sense, The NGO will have a presence throughout the Cup, encouraging the participants to give a second life to their wetsuits. The idea is that the swimmers donate their old suits so that they can be reused by the young people of Superacció.
