This year, when OnePlus announced its new high-end, the disappointment of several was noticed and is that its promise of “flagship killer” had been broken. They were offering excellent equipment, but with the same price as the Samsung, Huawei and Apple of the same range. Maybe a little less, but not enough to keep that “promise” of brand value. Now they launched a team in Europe, the OnePlus Nord, which seems to be a kind of “sorry”.
The reviews are already up and these are their technical specifications:
- 6.44-inch OLED screen at 90Hz
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor
- Options with 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM
- 128GB to 256GB of storage
- Warp Charge 30T Quick Charge 4115 mAh Battery
- 48 MP camera with OIS + 8 MP wide-angle + macro + depth sensor
The equipment also has a fingerprint reader under the screen and does not have a headphone port or wireless charging, IP certification against water and dust either. Its price is 400 euros. There are no plans to release it in the United States, for now.
The main grace is the price, where you get a construction with plastic edges, but glass behind. It is almost the only one in that price range with a 90Hz screen and it competes directly with the iPhone SE and teams like Samsung’s Galaxy A71.
The first reviews speak of an excellent battery and experience, but that the processor is somewhat behind in comparison to its brothers with 865+. On the other hand, cameras don’t seem like a big deal.
In his last video, JerryRigEverything verified that the structure of the terminal was compromised, since when applying force to bend it, it broke, making it unusable:
Despite everything, it is a return to the origins for OnePlus, at a supersensible price for what is offered and an experience that seems to be unique in the price range, both for the screen and for the Android fork that uses the brand, which many already raise as better than pure Android.
Let’s hope that eventually it is decided to launch through these markets to see how it is. For now, this is the fashion cell phone.
