The first to be able to access this account will be Nu customers who already have a credit card and later the people who register on the page of the Brazilian-born neobank.
Until September, Nu México already had more than 3 million credit cards in the country, being the issuer with the largest number of plastics placed.
The idea of the neobank is to expand its products in the country and reach rural communities with digital accounts; however, Nu México did not disclose whether it had a plan to expand connectivity or any alliance to reach remote places.
Regarding his new role at the helm of the neobank in Mexico, Iván Canales said he was excited to expand the range of products in the country in the face of low financial inclusion.
“We believe that there are many problems to be solved, the financial system in Mexico is complex and it is something that we are definitely going to be focused on, I would love to see more access to better products,” he said.
