The Google Assistant routines allow you to schedule the Google Assistant and connected apps and devices to perform certain tasks when conditions are met. These tasks were running one after the other up to now, but now you can set a timeout.
Now you have more control over the Google Assistant routines, being able to configure a customizable pause between actions and that can be several hours. In this way, you can make, for example, the lights turn off 2 hours after you leave the house or similar actions.
Take a break, Assistant
The Google Assistant has added an additional configuration in its routine editor that will give a lot of play if you are trying to automate your home or your mobile. It’s a simple change, but one that can make a big difference: being able to configure a pause between actions.
You will find this function when editing a routine in the Assistant (in the settings of Wizard> Routines, playing an existing routine or creating a new one), although it does not appear in all cases. When it does, you will see it at the bottom, under the category Time adjustments.
By tapping on this action, you can manually enter a delay time for the next action, from a few minutes to hours. After adding this delay to your routine, you will see a call sign in the action list to help you see where the pause will take place.
It is an action that will be very useful in specific cases and that also you can add as many times as you want in the same routine, if you need a few pauses between actions. When running a routine with pauses, the Wizard does not display any countdown or timeout indications.
