In the last month, we have published two articles in Genbeta reviewing some of the most useful utilities from each collection of applications dedicated to Windows monitoring, administration and configuration: those of NirSoft and those of SysInternals.
But, in case we wanted to have them all at hand … by adding more than two hundred small applications between the two, downloading and maintaining all of them — not to mention remembering the functions of each one — becomes mission impossible.
But that’s where our tool today comes in: one that It will allow us to manage both collections of applications from the same point and quickly access any of them.

With you, NirLauncher
NirLauncher is a suite of applications that brings together in the same ZIP file the more than 200 portable freeware utilities that make up the NirSoft collection; It does not require any installation, so we can use them directly by unzipping them (they occupy a total of 55 Mb) on our hard drive or on a removable drive.
Furthermore, NirLauncher is also an application in itself, which provides an interface that provides us with quick access to all the others, listing them by subject categories (such as ‘Tools for developers’ or ‘Utilities related to video and audio’) and providing us with a description of the function they perform.
When running the utilities, if we are on an x64 system, NirLauncher will automatically open the x64 version (if it exists) from which we have selected.
Perhaps by now you are asking yourself a very obvious question: if NirLauncher is a NirSoft application that includes all the utilities from the NirSoft collection… where do the SysInternals applications fit in there? The point is that NirLauncher allows us, via plugin, to add to the application other collections of utilities developed by third parties. Among them… yes, SysInternals.
these are the steps to follow
We download from here the ZIP file of NirLauncher, and unzip it (be careful, it is password protected: ‘nirsoft9876 $’) in the folder of our choice. For example, in C: / Portables / NirLauncher; within it you will find a folder ‘NirSoft’ with the entire collection of the same name of applications.
ATTENTION: It is possible that at any time from this point, your antivirus program will go a little crazy detecting possible threats. Nothing happens: they are (some of) the applications of NirSoft and SysInternals, which by their nature, linked to the interiors of the system, are seen by bad eyes by our antivirus. Give your thumbs up to suspicious files, and you’re done.
Now opening the Microsoft website, we will download from here the SysInternals Suite ZIP file (which compiles its entire collection of utilities) and we will unzip it into the ‘NirLauncher’ folder that we just created.
Returning to the NirLauncher website, a little below the link to the ZIP, we will find (under the heading of ‘Additional downloads’) some plugins with extension * .nlp. At the top of the list we will find those related to SysInternals: we recommend downloading the most updated version, ‘sysinternals5.nlp’. We will save it in the ‘SysInternalsSuite’ folder created in the previous step.
- We open NirLauncher, and in the menu bar we click on ‘Launcher> Add Software Package’ and select the NLP file.
- Once that is done, only the SysInternals applications will be shown … and we can change from one collection to another in the ‘Packages’ option from the menu bar.
