The PSVR2 is one of the most anticipated pieces of technology by Sony fans. Although the company still does not provide more data on this device, a new report indicates that a closed presentation for developers was held yesterday, where PlayStation shared some details about the PSVR2, like its controls and resolution.
According to a report by PSVR Without Parole, something that was corroborated by UpoladVR, the PSVR2 is codenamed NGVR, a reference to the PS Vita. Similarly, It talks about the use of Fresnel OLED screens, which provide HDR at a resolution of 2000 × 2040 per eye. On the other hand, it is noted that the field of view would be 110 degrees, 10 more than those seen in the original PSVR.
The PSVR2 would make use of flexible scaling (FSR), which would focus the render in the player’s field of view. This, along with the use of Foveated rendering and better eye tracking, makes the PS5’s resources less compromised. They also talk about the use of an adaptive headset, which would reduce possible nausea from movement.
Regarding the controls, Each PSVR2 package would include its respective accessories. At this same point, the use of adaptive triggers is pointed out, something we already knew, but there is also talk about touch sensors for the fingers.
Secondly, the report mentions that PlayStation intends to release AAA games which can be played with or without VR, similar to what we saw with Resident Evil 7 Y Hitman iii, and you only need to download the version you want. Similarly, there are rumors about seeing game remasters of the original PSVR.
Finally, at the beginning of 2022 we would have official information related to the launch date of this device. These new details have not been officially shared with the general public, so something could change in the coming months.
On related topics, the number of PS Plus users has decreased. Similarly, the PS4 already exceeds 116 million units sold.
