When does the new 20 bill come into circulation?
The ticket enters into circulation from this Friday, September 24, and it is expected that on Monday the 27th they will already be in bank branches. Of this banknote, 300 million pieces were issued, it is expected that there will be two million pieces in circulation at the end of September, and 42 million pieces by the end of 2021, explained Alegre.
This new paper money has a life of 50 months, its manufacturing cost is 1.40 pesos per piece, the average amount for the manufacture of the G family banknotes.
The 20 bills, blue with Benito Juárez in front, do not lose their value, they will continue in circulation, they can continue to be used to make payments, the governor said.
What are the G family banknotes?
The banknote belongs to the G family, a project that Banxico started eight years ago with the aim of issuing safer banknotes for the Mexican public.
