Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City It is one of the most anticipated films by players. While we still don’t have a trailer showing us what this new adaptation of Capcom’s work will look like, a number of additional images and details have been shared today that give us a better idea of the type of film that awaits us.
In a conversation with IGN, Johannes Roberts, director and writer of this film, reaffirmed that Welcome to Raccoon City it is not connected to the movies starring Milla Jovovich. Similarly, ensures that they will return to the horror routes of the series. To ensure this is a reality, Capcom worked closely with the production team. Here’s what Roberts had to say about it:
“I wanted to go back to the horror of it all. I wanted scares and atmosphere instead of full action. I think fans of the game felt the same way – they wanted to see the iconic characters and locations and feel like the movie was more in line with the Resident Evil game world, which is why we really decided to go in that direction. We worked hand-in-hand with Capcom on this movie… to the point that we actually got shots of them on the Spencer Mansion and Raccoon police station designs to recreate them as perfectly as possible. We even have the exact artwork on the walls of the mansion. “
One of the most interesting points of this reboot is the participation of Lisa Trevor. Recall that this character was introduced with the remake of the original resident Evil, and in this new adaptation it will be an important piece for history, to the degree that Roberts has done everything possible to expand this poor tormented soul. This was what he commented on the matter:
“Lisa Trevor is actually a pivotal role in the movie. It always fascinated me when I was playing the remake of the first game. I found her character unsettling and at the same time strangely unsettling. When we were discussing how to bring this story to life, it was one of the elements that I really wanted to highlight strongly, as she has never been in any of the filmed versions of Resident Evil. I wanted her to be a three-dimensional character, not just a creepy specter. “
