Wednesday is one of Netflix’s main hits during the last quarter of the year. The series, directed by Tim Burton, has escalated quickly among followers of The Addams Family and those who are not, but who approach production out of curiosity about the novelty. However, his future within Netflix is still unclear.

Jenna Ortega is the leading actress in this story. She is about a character who, through psychic abilities, ventures to resolve a strange situation within a study center. Beyond this plot, it is a story that revives part of a franchise that during the 90s generated fury in thousands of people.

The Addams Family is one of the most famous in pop culture. Wednesday, through a single character, brings part of that mythology back to the collective imagination. These are stories that feed off each other, generating an enormous number of hours broadcast on Netflix. How many? Enough to position themselves within the top 5 most viewed productions within the service. Even in that context, its future is so far unclear. In this sense, a senior Netflix manager gives viewers hope, although not too much.

    second season of Wednesday?
    This is what is known

Wednesday is a series that is made up of 8 episodes. It is a story that has attracted attention for its aesthetics, for the treatment of the story through a very particular character, and the appearance of others who have been interpreted in a notable way, such as Thing. Although currently there are multiple resources to recreate issues, in the case of that last character there was a background actor. They are examples that describe part of the wealth that exists in production.

That has been part of his success. However, sometimes it is not so easy to approve the projects, beyond their impact within the Netflix platform. Head of Scripted Series for the US and Canada, Peter Friedlander, offered a statement vulture in which he referred to the future of Wednesday.

“I wish I could tell you more, I’m optimistic, but I have nothing to say at this time“.

However, his comment did not stop there. The scenario, in general terms, is one of success and uncertainty. The first, due to the receptivity of the series; the second, because this type of decision involves a series of scales that, perhaps, at this point, have not been resolved. However, the manager, the idea of a second season is not ruled out: “I would like (to happen)”.

With the premiere of Wednesday still fresh (it was produced on November 23), it is suspected that the announcement of a possible second season will take longer. Meanwhile, the first eight episodes are found available in Netflix.
