You can now expel whoever you want from your Netflix account, and without having to change the password. A new ad of the company confirms the launch of an improvement associated with the devices and the access to the account. Thus, you can delete an unwanted device in a few secondseither the mobile of an old roommate or the laptop of your ex.
The function arrives under the name of Manage Access and Devices, which in Spanish would be Manage Access and Devices. This section displays information about connected deviceswhich profiles they access, what they have seen and from where.
Netflix defines this feature as something that will give members “extra control over their account.” As an example, they give a hypothetical situation where a family or individual goes on vacation somewhere. Here, the person logs into their Netflix account from the hotel TV. The problem is that “many people forget to log out afterwards“. This feature arrives geared towards these individuals.
However, we all know what it will be used for: to remove members with whom we no longer have communication, and to whom we have given access to our account. This, of course, will end completely when the company extends password sharing limitations to the rest of the world, something that has not gone down well with most users.
How to remove someone from your Netflix account
To begin, it must be made clear that the Manage Access and Devices function is compatible with all versions of Netflix. From those that we use on the computer, to those that we use on our iOS or Android mobile.
If you want to remove someone from your account, just go to the Account settings, and look for Manage Access and Devices in the Security and Privacy section. Later, we will see a series of connected devices, with the description of each one (Roku, Android Phone, Apple – iPhone, Chrome PC, Windows 10 and more); as well as your IP address, location, and last viewing date from that device.
To remove someone, just click on the button Sign off that appears in the box of the chosen device. Once this is done, Netflix recommends changing the password to prevent them from accessing the account again.
This feature is especially useful for those who are subscribed to Netflix’s most basic plan, or the new Basic with Ads. After all, users of these plans can only use one screen at a timeso if an unwanted user is logged in, they will be unable to use your account until this person ends their viewing session.
