Through a statement, the Guaranteed Education Trust (Fidegar) reported that on Wednesday, September 1, they will deposit the first payment of “My Scholarship to Start”, which has now been renamed the “Welfare Scholarship for Boys and Girls”.
The state program targets entry-level students who are enrolled in Mexico City public schools. It consists of a monthly aid that is dispersed during the 10 months of the school year, from September to June.
“This is one universal scholarship that only exists in Mexico City for all boys and girls in basic education, preschool, primary, secondary, Public Multiple Attention Centers in Mexico City, ”said the capital’s head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, in August.
In 2021, the amount increased 15% over the previous year. Now the scholarship oscillates between 400 and 500 pesos per month, depending on the level of studies that each beneficiary takes. These are the amounts that will be dispersed this Wednesday, September 1, according to Fidegar:
* Preschool level: 400 pesos.
* Primary level: 435 pesos.
* Secondary level: 435 pesos.
* Multiple Attention Centers (CAM): 500 pesos.
How to register for My Scholarship to Get Started?
Registration is done through the mobile application Get More / My Scholarship to Get Started or in the Web page www.mibecaparaempezar.cdmx.gob.mx. The interested party must enter the following data and documents:
* Cellphone number.
* Email.
* CURP of the tutor and the student.
* Official identification of the tutor.
* Proof of address.
* Proof of studies for the 2020-2021 school year.
* Proof and / or Proof of Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year.
The beneficiaries who already have the scholarship will only have to update their data as of September 1 to continue receiving financial support. On that day, the system will be enabled, both for registration and to update student information for the 2021-2022 school year. It should be noted that the money awarded to the student community can be used in affiliated establishments stationery, uniforms, footwear and food.
Scholarship for school uniforms and supplies
In addition, on this same website, families will also be able to apply for the scholarship to uniforms and school supplies granted by the government of Mexico City. This program provides the following supports:
* Preschool Education: 820 pesos per year.
* Primary Education: 920 pesos per year.
* Secondary Education: 1,000 pesos per year.
In the capital of the country, the students returned to the classrooms this Monday, August 30 after a year in the remote mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new school year will last 200 days and will conclude on July 28.
