All six episodes of Moon Knight are now available on Disney+, and with what we saw in the latest installment of the series, we’re excited for what’s to come. Thanks to the first post-credits scene of the show, we met a new character. Who?
For more than a month we have been watching a new episode of Moon Knightthe series of Disney+ starring oscar isaac. Today the last chapter arrived, called gods and monsters, and gave us so many amazing scenes and moments. One of them was a double fight (so to speak) with a great action sequence, which the director Muhammad Diab He had anticipated us last week. However, in the end we saw the first post-credits scene of the show, What happened? Who appears? What does it mean?
First of all, it should be noted that if you are not up to date with moonnight, beware of spoilers. To recap, in the previous episode we had seen that after Harrow I will shoot Stevenand therefore to Mark, both embarked on a journey to balance the scales of their souls and go through their own memories. they know Tueris or Taueretthe Egyptian goddess of fertility, who appears in the form of a hippopotamus and helps them return to life.
However, on the other side, the one who is doing her best to stop Arthur Harrow as Ethan Hawke before i release Ammitalso known as the Eater of the Deadit is Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy)the wife of Marc Specter. After what Tueris communicate with her to tell her that if she releases Khonshū he will be able to help Mark Already Steven, Laila she sets off and offers herself as an avatar of the goddess of fertility. This way she not only gets a cute outfit, but also her own superpowers.
Once Mark and Steve came back to life, made a pact with Khonshū so that once they defeated both Harrow like Ammitget freedom. With better control of your abilities, Moon Knight, Mr. Knight Y layla they fight against Harrow and his minions, while Khonshū faces against Ammitwho is shaped like a kind of huge crocodile.
At a time when everything seems lost, since Harrow is about to defeat the protagonist, Mark he faints, and when he comes to, he sees that everyone around him is defeated. Without understanding what happened (because if he did nothing and Steven either, there is something left hanging around), they catch Ammit in the body of Harrow. Given this, Khonshū tells to Mark to kill him, but he refuses and demands that he release them, which the moon god accepts.
After this, we meet again Steven Y Mark in the psychiatric institution and, once and for all, reject the diagnosis of Harrow and they trust that this is not their reality. They wake up in the apartment Steven in London, where they are chained to the bed, reminding us of how things were in the early chapters. “I can’t believe you live in this fucking mess”He tells Mark a Steven before falling to the floor. And there the episode ends.
However, we do have the first post-credits scene of all Moon Knightone that introduces us to a new character, or rather personality: Jake Lockleywho we have been waiting for. Thanks to some specific moments, such as three reflections of the protagonist or the indications that there was still someone else to discover, his appearance was a matter of time. Lockley he is the personality that came out when things got more violent than normal and killed without hesitation.
This post-credits scene begins with Harrow as a patient in the psychiatric institution in London. Suddenly, a mysterious man dressed in black, with a beret, gloves and a rather gruff voice speaking in Spanish (and it sounds very oscar isaac), comes to get him out of the center. In a moment, Harrow he realizes something is wrong when he sees a hospital worker lying in a pool of blood. Moments later, this man (whose face we still haven’t seen) puts Harrow in a white limo.
Inside the car we see neither more nor less than Khonshū with a suit. the first thing he says Harrowwith a smile on his face, is that he can hurt us, but the Moon god replies: Marc Spector I really believed that after we broke up, I wanted his wife to be my avatar. Why would he need someone else if he has no idea how disturbed he really is? … I present to you my friendJake Lockley”. This new personality Markin the driver’s seat, turns around and says in Spanish to Harrow: “today you have to lose”. After this, she shoots him and they leave in the limo.
In the comics, one of the most prominent personalities in Mark is the taxi driver Jake Lockley, whose specialty is collecting information on the streets. He has plenty of connections in the criminal underworld, as that’s where he handles himself best, suggesting his morally questionable outlook.
In the series it seems that they converted Lockley in the most violent version of the hero, since, thanks to what we saw in previous episodes, every time there were disconnections from Mark either Steven that they did not show on the screen (and that ended in bloody moments and with quite a few deaths), it was about Jake taking control of the body.
This tells us that in the moments of greatest threat to our protagonists (Mark and Steve), the violent but tremendously effective Jake Lockley took charge of resolving the situation. Now, those moments where this third personality appeared, do we owe them to an agreement between Khonshū Y Jake? During the entire series, the moon god helped Jake and gave him supernatural powers? will we see Jake Lockley in action and with his version of the suit? We assume that these doubts will be revealed in the future and in an expected second season.
