If a project caught the eye during the launch of Max, the new Warner Bros. Discovery platform, it was the series inspired by Harry Potter. The fantasy has been considered one of the most ambitious projects of the coming years, because if Warner makes a solid adaptation, it could well be one of the greatest successes of the coming years. Obviously, one of the most commented aspects has been the casting, and now it is Daniel Radcliffe, star of the original tapes, who gives his opinion on the new actors who will enter Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series.
During an interview for the segment The Actor’s Sideof DeadlineRadcliffe broke the silence on what represents a new adaptation of Harry Potter. Although he will be supervised by JK Rowling, it will certainly be curious to see how he adapts to the characters after 8 films starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Fortunately, the Harry Potter interpreter affirms that the character goes far beyond any actor.
“I don’t think… that’s the thing, that’s the interesting thing, I think Harry Potter was always destined to become Sherlock Holmes. Or as the people who saw Basil Rathbone play Sherlock Holmes had said: “No one else can do this.” Well, you know, they’re going to think about it. And then he will move on to someone else. The weird thought I’m having right now is that there’s probably an eight-year-old out there somewhere whose life is going to change in a couple of years. My brain goes there… but I think the sequel to the movies, or the series in this case, was pretty inevitable.”
As can be seen, the also protagonist of horns acknowledges that Harry Potter was always destined to live beyond the film series in which he starred. At the end of the day, we are looking at a franchise that has sold millions of copies around the world. In addition, it became one of the highest grossing in the film industry. Considering the mythology embodied in the source material, a series adaptation gives more opportunity to explore what didn’t make it into the original movies.
On the other hand, the actor was questioned about a possible appearance in the new universe Harry Potter. Although it would be nice if he appeared to somehow hand over the baton to the new team of actors, the actor ruled it out. He considered that it would be a strange idea for everyone, especially since this new series will start from scratch, without taking into account the events of the previous tapes.
What do you think about Daniel Radcliffe’s statements? Is Harry Potter really that much bigger than any actor? Who could stay with the character that gave the actor affection and worldwide fame?
Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the theater up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movie.
