I face the Magnamalo, the flagship monster from Monster Hunter Rise. This evil beast with the fuss of a big cat moves and reacts even more mind-boggling when there is no limit on frames per second. Even from a distance, and without the epic music in the background, you can tell the huge-fanged wyvern dominates the stage with its mere presence. He’s brutal and intimidating in equal measure, and now he’s coming right at me. Definitely, I should have set the trap better.
I’m devoid of the weapons, gear, and upgrades I’ve accumulated over 200+ hours of gameplay on Nintendo Switch, but definitely i’m not helpless. I acknowledge that wearing a glaive insect, any one, almost balance the battle. He already mastered it in the 3DS games, and in this installment his acrobatic style has been greatly enhanced by the new mobility system. In fairness, Kamura’s mind-blowing hunting style works to my advantage.
I look at the clock to the left of my health bar and check that I have left anything else 40 minutes to reduce to Magnamalo. It could be worse. The sparks are already emanating from the Wyvern’s tail and it is time to discover which of the two ends up down. My comrades are not the companions with whom I have shared dozens of battles, but all help is little. Like I’m Spider-Man I launch myself with a cordoamarre impulse towards my prey and, after failing with my trap, I take the initiative for the second time. It is half an hour intense.
This is how your new favorite Monster Hunter looks on PC
Capcom has it all lined up for you to experience an epic hunting experience of a double jump in quality on PC: on the one hand publishing Monster hunter rise, the most recent and spectacular installment of the entire cult saga. On the other hand, taking advantage to round out even more your flawless and terribly addictive ARPG experience thanks to the visual and technical boost that desktops can offer. A winning bet to which In VidaExtra we have already been able to take the glove and, to no one’s surprise, we’ve been wanting much more.
The Blue Bomber company offered us to try a snack of the PC version whose contents are not very different from those offered in the trial version of the eShop. Of course, we can tell you that it has not been limited to cut-paste the contents of the Nintendo console: it is about a fully PC-friendly version, with textures and a performance that more than one will even consider getting one of the best games of 2021 for the second time. To me, of course, they already have me convinced.
Which brings us to the question of rigor: what does it look like Monster hunter rise on PC? For now, here is a 35-minute game in which we go hunting a Mizutsune with a light crossbow. The show is more than guaranteed.
The first thing that you will have seen is the great performance of the game. Although, it must be admitted that in Switch the RE Engine is quite good, it is noticeable that in PC it is much looser in possibilities, being able to raise the frame rate to more than 120 FPS and even directly enable unlocking of frames per second. And that, in combat or when two Wyverns collide, is something brutal.
Another of the great improvements that this version offers is the resolution, being able to offer 4K images and much sharper textures, which makes the whole scandal: the vegetation, the setting and even the most subtle details of the monsters in the distance give a total leap in quality. Something that can be seen in property when comparing the images of both versions.

Capture of Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch (TV)
Beyond offering much better edges and finishes, it can be seen that the PC version retains the original Nintendo Switch interface intact and its proportion to the screen. In fact, the models and shapes are, in practice, the same, but it is in movement where the final result ends up showing more.
That said, and in fairness, Capcom has sprinkled with graphic and visual options this version, offering a tab dedicated to advanced graphic settings with filters, occlusion, shadow quality and that even includes the use of the graphic memory of our equipment. Quite a detail so that when the chaos manifests on the screen -which is quite frequent- we can address it smoothly.
There are two additional nuances that must be taken into account regarding this edition of Monster hunter rise for PC: on the one hand, those that are accommodated to use mouse and keyboard They will be able to go hunting with the extra precision of being able to point with a mouse, which is a great advantage when using the cordoamarre impulses in a more intuitive way. Of course, those who retain muscle memory from playing on Switch will be able to use any traditional controller.
However, what is really a very positive point is the inclusion of a voice chat system to talk to other players. Something that will give many more nuances to this exotic incursion to the surroundings of the village of Kamura.
Because, to be honest, if the PC version of Monster hunter rise It even reinforces -and a lot- the technical achievement of Capcom and its RE Engine on Switch, it also brings out the colors of Nintendo in something as simple as offering a communication system that does not force the player to go through Discord or any other alternative.
A must for fans of Monster Hunter on PC
Monster Hunter World achieved what Capcom had been trying for more than a decade: that the saga Monster hunter cease to be a niche ARPG in the West. Leaving behind the systems of zones separated by load times and the rigid mobility of the pre-Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate deliveries.
Monster hunter rise Raises that bar and breaks down any possible barriers by offering noteworthy controls and mobility and hunting environments that lend themselves wonderfully to the experience: their stages are more vertical, have an extra character and traverse them with technical of ninjutsu or on the back of a comrade Canyne is always a joy. Especially, no frame limit.
You can get used to using the mouse or keyboard (I highly recommend using the wire rope) or using the classic controller and sticks system. In both cases, Monster hunter rise is that terribly addictive hunting experience where you practically Each match equates to the thrill of meeting an epic Final Boss. An intense test of dexterity, perseverance and endurance that always it is even more enjoyable in company.
Although, the version of the game that we had access to in Extra Life He already looked and moved wonderfully, we will have to wait until next year to get the glove: Monster hunter rise will come to PC January 12, 2022, being the first desktop system hit in one of the most promising years in too long.
Luckily, it won’t take long for you to draw your own conclusions too: a demo will be available on Steam on October 13. Equip yourself well, sharpen your weapon and see you at the entrance of the Ruined sanctuary.
