The new hardware event from Microsoft we have met the Surface Studio 2+, the long-awaited new version of the all-in-one computer developed by Redmond. The device arrives with features already known and inherited from its two previous generations, but with the logical updates on its technical specifications sheet.
As with its predecessors, Microsoft has thought of the Surface Studio 2+ as the ideal equipment for creators and professionals. Its large touch screen (28”), with stylus support, and the already proven “zero gravity” hingewhich allows you to move the panel at will, are once again the most characteristic elements of this PC.
But the most relevant changes that this computer brings with it are not visible to the naked eye. And it’s logical, considering that four years have passed since the last time Microsoft updated its all-in-one, and six since it presented the original version. Therefore, the company promises a formidable leap in performance for this third generation.
According to Redmond, the CPU of the Surface Studio 2+ will be 50% faster than its predecessor, and up to five times faster than the original Surface Studio. Also mentioned double the performance in the graphic sectioncompared to the Surface Studio 2.
However, the hardware choices are somewhat conspicuous. The Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ relies on processors again Core i7; but includes a model eleventh generationwhich draws a lot of attention if we consider that Intel has just introduced the thirteenth generation of its CPUs.
It may be too early for it to arrive with a Raptor Lake chip, of course, but considering that it is the first update that the all-in-one has received since 2018, it would surely have been more attractive if it had at least been presented with a 12th generation.
As for GPU, it arrives with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, in its version for laptops; something that today is far from being top of the line. While the RAM is DDR4.

Some additional considerations about the Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ that are worth taking into account. A very interesting feature is that the computer now offers native support for connecting up to three external monitors with 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
As we mentioned at the beginning, the device has been thought again for designers and other professional users who need to interact with styluses. For this reason, it includes the Surface Pen together with the traditional wireless peripherals (keyboard and mouse).
Additionally, Microsoft offers the ability for users to repair or update some of the components of the Surface Studio 2+. Items that can be changed include the display, SSD, motherboard, power supply, heat sink, monitor stand, and hinge cover, among others. Of course, replacement hardware is sold separately.
