“The behavior of FDI in the third quarter of 2023 is the result of the confidence of foreign investors in the good business environment and macroeconomic stability of the country,” the agency highlighted.
By type of investment, the country received 24,905 million dollars (76%) from reinvestment of profits, 2,806 million dollars (8%) more from new investments and 5,217 million dollars (16%) from accounts between companies.
By sector, manufacturing received 53% of total FDI, followed by financial services with 22%, mining with 9%, temporary accommodation and transportation which contributed 7% and 4%, respectively.
The percentage of new investments increased one percentage point compared to the first half of this year.
CDMX, Nuevo León, Sonora, Chihuahua and the State of Mexico were the five entities that received the most FDI.
By country of origin, the United States, Spain, Germany, Argentina and Japan make up the top five nations from which the most money reaches Mexico.
