By type of investment, of the 29,041 million dollars, 22,609 million dollars (78%) corresponded to reinvestment of profits, 4,297 million dollars to accounts between companies and 2,135 million dollars (7%) to new investments.
In the first quarter of this year, when 18,636 million dollars of foreign capital arrived in Mexico, 90% (16,700 million dollars) were from reinvestment of profits, 5% (1,000 million dollars) to accounts between companies and 5% (930 million dollars) to new investments.
The United States, Spain and Germany make up the top three countries of origin of foreign direct investment that arrives in Mexico.
While, by sector, manufacturing received 57% of the EID that arrived in the country, highlighting transportation equipment, metals, the beverage and tobacco industry; in addition to the chemical and food industries, electrical appliances and computer equipment, detailed the SE.
CDMX, Nuevo León, Baja California, Jalisco and the State of Mexico lead the list of FDI receiving entities. The top 10 is completed by Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Chihuahua and Puebla.
