Mexico added 224 deaths and 5,139 new infections from Covid-19 in the last hours, according to the daily technical report published this Sunday by the Ministry of Health (Ssa).
With these data, the country accumulates 267,748 deaths and 3,511,882 infections by Covid-19.
With these records, Mexico remains the fourth country with the most deaths from Covid-19 behind the United States, Brazil and India, and the fifteenth in number of confirmed infections, according to the Johns Hopkins University count.
In addition, health authorities estimate that the real number of infections is 3,723,390. Of this number, they are active 92,485 cases that have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and that represent the 2.5% of the total. Also, they said there is 2,853,567 people recovered from the disease.
The average occupancy of general beds in hospitals is 42% and 38% for intensive care beds.
Hospital occupancy has decreased by 58% in relation to the maximum peak reached in January, when hospitals in several cities, including the capital, were saturated.
VACCINATION PLAN
The report also indicated that so far they have administered 91,720,391 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19, by adding 538,112 on the day of Saturday.
He also specified that 39,070,943 people have received the doses necessary to complete the vaccination schedule in Mexico, which has 126 million inhabitants.
