The Mexican, a resident of La Paz, Baja California Sur, pleaded guilty in October 2021 to one count of interference with flight crew members and flight attendants.
The events occurred on June 25, 2021, when Luis Armando boarded United Airlines flight 5365, to travel from Los Angeles, California, to Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to the recount of the facts, when the plane backed away from the boarding gate, the Mexican “ran at full speed” towards the front of the aircraft, passed in front of a stewardess and “began to hit the cabin door and manipulate the knob closed”, according to an affidavit from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation of the USA).
After failing in his attempt to enter the cabin, Luis Armando Domínguez pushed the stewardess and went to the emergency exit and managed to partially open the door, causing the evacuation slide to also partially unfold.
