Despite the fact that large companies continue to bet on technologies such as NFTS, blockchain and metaverse, time and time again it has been shown that the market is not ready, and the public does not have an ounce of interest. Now, a series of internal Meta documents were recently released, where it is mentioned that the developers of Horizon Worlds don’t even make use of this app for the Metaverse.
Recently, The Verge obtained a series of documents making it clear that Horizon Worlds, the great virtual reality world created for the metaverse, is facing serious problems. According to various teasters, VR app is full of bugs, “quality issues” and it is “too difficult for our community to experience the magic of Horizon.”
In response to these concerns, Vishal Shah, Vice President of Metaverse, has implored Meta developers to take the time to fall in love with this virtual world. This was what he commented:
“For a lot of us, we don’t spend that much time on the Horizon and our dogfooding panels show that pretty clearly. Why is that? Why don’t we love the product we’ve built so much that we use it all the time? The simple truth is that if we don’t love it, how can we expect our users to love it?
Everyone in this organization should make it their mission to fall in love with Horizon Worlds. You can’t do that without using it. Get in there. Schedule times to do it with your colleagues or friends, both on the internal builds and the public build so you can interact with our community.
I want to be clear on this point. We are working on a product that has not found suitability for the product market. If you’re on Horizon, I need you to fully embrace ambiguity and change.”
Although a large number of companies have pointed to the metaverse as the future of online interactions, cases like Horizon Worlds make it clear that we are far from meeting the expectations of entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg. If the developers themselves don’t want to spend time in that virtual world, it is quite possible that the general public does not want this either.
