Over the years, our phones have become true pocket computers, and not those PDAs that sold us as Pocket PC years ago when the most advanced on the market was a Nokia 3310. The desktop or home screen of our phone looks like the desktop of a computer, and sometimes there are so many icons that certain wallpapers they don’t help.
And it is that many times we do not worry too much about the elements that decorate our phone, especially when we talk about the home screen, something that in the end ends up having consequences for many, especially if they are not friends of order.
Let the trees let you see the forest
It is a way of summarizing something that happens quite often on our phones, and of which we are often not aware, simply because we go very fast to everything every day, and we do not even have time to stop and think. We originally conceived the mobile as a device in which we have all our apps at hand, as has always happened for example in iPhones, where the application drawer cannot be hidden. If we are one of those who do not hide it on Android either, we probably have several desktop pages populated with icons, each “from his father and his mother” with their own color codes.
The problem comes when to this large number of icons on the screen we add a wallpaper in which, for example, there is a photograph, with lots of color, lots of elements, and where it is difficult to find a good flat color extension. With these wallpapers, the most normal thing is that you have more difficulty finding the icon of an app, especially if you do not usually use it a lot and you have it located on your site. It is the worst possible combination, having a lot of icons, and a let’s say intense wallpaper.
Flat colors or textures, our allies
When it comes to applying a wallpaper, as much as we like it, we must be aware that for both the background to stand out, and for the icons to be seen, there must be a balance. If you want to put a photo of your children, your family, or your last party, choose remove all desktop icons, and access them in the application drawer if it is an Android.
If you do not want to move them, it is best that you opt for a flat, uniform color across the desktop, you will guarantee a perfect visibility of the icons on your mobile. Also the backgrounds of colored textures, or vectors, are perfect to be able to see them in conjunction with the icons of your phone. Another good alternative is to install a launcher that changes the icons to a more uniform visual code, it is something that will also help the icons to be seen correctly and order reigns on our mobile. Or we can also block the icons so that there is something more order. Because what better way to boast of a screen with good resolution and colorful than with an attractive computer desk.
