A few months ago a rumor began to circulate that Sony would be looking to revive the franchise of Twisted metal through different projects. One of them will be the TV series, which has already been confirmed and even has a leading actor. But on the other hand, there is also talk of a new video game for PlayStation 5, and according to information from Videogames Chronicles, will be Lucid games those who work on it.
Lucid games is a studio located in London who recently worked in Destruction All-Stars for PS5. Yes, we know that the game did not have the best reception when it was launched on the market, but it definitely had a lot of potential. In the same way, they lent their talent in other titles of Respawn Entertainment What Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Apex Legends.
Well, as reported VGC, the new game of Twisted metal is in charge of this team and, as many of us suspected, it would be available at some point in 2023 to coincide with the premiere of the series. Outside of this, the previously mentioned portal did not give additional details, but if it turns out that its launch is still two years away, then we want to believe that it will not be until 2022 when we finally have some kind of news about it. Maybe this year we will have a teaser or something similar, but it is best to keep your expectations at bay.
We don’t have many details about the series either, except that it would be a mix between elements of comedy and action with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of Deadpool and Zombieland, behind the script.
