Under the name of Lobo and Crush, a failed animated program about the character was in development, and here are some images.
Lobo is not a novice in animation, as we have seen him participate in different productions for a couple of decades, at least. However, the show project called Lobo and Crush, which ultimately did not get the green light, will remain a fabulous proposition that would have been worth enjoying. Mainly because we would see him interact as his half-Czarnian daughter.
The director, producer and creator of Lobo and Crush, Olan Rogers, has shared images of the animated series he was developing for HBO Max on his Linkedin feed. In the post, Rogers tagged Coty Galloway, who was on the project with him. Rogers wrote the following:
“Here are some pieces from the Lobo and Crush animated project for DC, which Coty Galloway and I had presented and sold in 2020. We have been developing it for the last two years. We were excited about the idea of pushing these characters emotionally and adding a new layer to them. We had a great time working with WarnerMedia, DC Comics, and HBOMax; it may one day become a reality, but for now it is time to develop new projects with new partners ”.

As Giant Freakin Robot recovers, Lobo and Crush would not have been the Czarnian’s first foray into animation, since the character debuted in Superman: The Animated Series (1996), to return in the animated series Justice League (2003) both with the Brad Garrett’s voice. He has also appeared in Young Justice, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Justice League Action, and in the 2000 web series simply titled Lobo and the movie Superman: Man of Tomorrow.
With actors looking to bring him to life, Lobo’s failed journey began in 2012 on a project involving director Brad Peyton and actor Dwayne Johnson. Since then, both Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan on The Walking Dead) and Dave Bautista (Drax on Guardians of the Galaxy) have shown an interest in bringing the character to life.
For his part, in 2018 it emerged that Michael Bay could become the director of a Lobo project for the DCEU, however, no further details of the project have emerged.
Finally, Emmett J. Scanlan brought the character to life in the second season of Krypton, and a spin-off of the series was even announced with the intergalactic bounty hunter as the protagonist. However, like Lobo and Crush, the project was also canceled.
