The workers of the operations in Zamora, where the fire is advancing without control, have denounced these days the precarious food received by the Board. The images of sad speech bubbles with a meager filling of three slices of sausage and some cheese they went viral on networks, asking for help to chef José Andrés.

The cook and founder of World Central Kitchen (WCK), the NGO that provides humanitarian aid in situations of food and social emergencydid not take long to respond sending a message on TwitterIt is very clear: “You always have to feed well, especially people risking their lives and working nonstop or without rest. Especially fires. It helps morale and it is important that they have the necessary calories for intense work! Junta de Castilla y León please it costs little to do it well”.
The call did not stop there, because a few hours later WCK teams went to the site of the fires in Zamora and Cáceres carrying fresh food and different dishes cooked to the professional operatives, volunteers and victims of the flames.
This is what we are giving in Caceres to those affected by the fire@WCKitchen #ChefsForSpain little by little it will be in more places during emergencies. Bananas, apples, Paraguayans and more fresh fruit, rice containers, gazpacho, meatballs in sauce and other stews, mineral water and even some sweets are some of the foods that the association led by José Andrés is handing out since yesterday afternoon in the areas most affected by the uncontrolled fires, both to the agents fighting the flames and to the affected population.
According to the professionals themselves tell, provisioning in fire emergency operations is carried out at the end of the service each day; what is not understood then is why seem to neglect this diet so much on the part of the authorities, when it is demonstrated that it would not cost much to transport fruit, complete salads or some more comforting and nutritious dish that compensates for the energy effort of the workers.
