At last it is possible to pass the WhatsApp conversations from an iPhone to an Android. The instant messaging app finally has a method of passing chats, images and content between operating systems. Of course, there are still important limitations that will probably be corrected little by little. At the moment it is not an extremely simple method and not available for all mobiles either. Only Samsung can access, at the moment, the transfer of chats.
WhatsApp already allows the transfer between iPhone and Samsung
The arrival of the new Samsung has opened the door to the transfer of WhatsApp information between operating systems. As absurd as it may seem, until now there was no way to pass the chats of a IOS mobile to Android mobile. Now it’s possible though only with Samsung that meet the following requirements:
- The Samsung Smart Switch application version 3.7.22.1 or higher
- WhatsApp version 2.21.160.17 on the iPhone
- WhatsApp version 2.21.16.20 on Samsung
- Samsung device must not be configured
- A USB C to Lightning cable or adapters
- A Samsung mobile with Android 10 or higher
As you can imagine, the handover is done locally and not through the cloud. You need to use the Samsung Smart Switch app to configure your new Samsung mobile and be able to transfer the information from the iPhone to the Samsung.
At the moment this is the only way to spend your conversations from an iPhone to a Samsung with Android. Unfortunately it cannot be done if you have a Xiaomi, a realme or any other device. Nor can you do it with very old Samsung devices that have not been updated, although WhatsApp has already commented that it is working to make it possible.
In the transfer from IOS to Samsung conversations, pictures and files are passed on, but not payment details between friends or call history. It is not a very simple process and not very fast, but at least it is already possible to do it.
