The “chill” trend has been born on the TikTok platform to generate a new link between audiences.
The trends of TikTok have the objective of connecting communities to replicate a message, something that has already been happening since the challenge in Youtube.
The new trend “It’s chill” or “it’s chill”, as it has been called, has managed to grab the attention of new generations on the TikTok platform. The trend is part of the word in this word, which in English refers to a state of relaxation. And, in fact, that’s what this trend is about.
Users of the social network have made this trend their own, one that, according to several testimonies, has its origins in the community of streamers.
TikTok has become one of the favorite social networks of users. This is because it is a great boost for both entrepreneurs and influencers, being a social network that rewards good content. Sometimes some trends they can become viral due to how disruptive they become for users.
On this, a joint study between We Are Social, Hootsuite and DataReportal notes that Mexico is considered precisely in 2022 as the second country in Latin America with the most Internet users registered per day, with 96 million being on-line during the day to day.
In addition to this, it is known that, at present, there are about five billion people connected to the Internet and, of course, to social networks. Of all, Facebook the one that leads the market with just over three billion registered users so far.
Other platforms, such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok have also reported significant growth, but it was the Chinese social network that attracted the most attention during the last couple of years (2020 and 2021).
And it is that it was during the pandemic when the social network TikTok began to appear in the main trends in several countries, to such an extent that, in 2021, the platform created by ByteDance has already exceeded one billion active users in just five years since its foundation.
For this reason, many users begin to migrate to the short video platform, as they have considered that it is ideal for sharing direct and effective messages that are also considerably easier to make than, possibly, a video of the same quality on YouTube, whose duration is usually extended.
“It’s chill”; this is what the new TikTok trend is about
The new trend known as “chill” has managed to impact social networks, being replicated on many occasions by many users. In fact, several of these even have millions of visits, managing to generate a connection above all between the Generations Z and Millennials.
A user through a TikTok video explained what this trend is about:

“Someone plays a very heavy prank on another person, especially kids, and then they throw their cell phone from the second floor, something like that, and then they say ‘it’s chill’. And they also do this sign which is the ‘shaka’ sign and it’s associated with the culture surf, Hawaii, as well as that everything ‘quiet’. It is a greeting as well as good vibes, good vibes”.
Likewise, the user comments that it was thanks to the community gamer that this word began to echo this trend, something that partly helped it go viral.
