“With Mujer Infonavit we will have a portfolio of flexible products, inclusive, attractive and coherent with the situation and needs of women beneficiaries at all stages of life,” the institute said in a statement.
Carlos Martinez Velazquezgeneral director of Infonavit, highlighted that given the structural conditions of the labor market, women exercise their credit at older ages and that, due to their salary level and accumulated savings, the amount of financing is also usually lower than that of men.
“What we are doing is correcting what we see as structural and what women lack to access credit. So, with these two variables, women will have more time to pay off their credit, a larger amount, at an older age, and they will have easier access to financing,” she stated.
Infonavit said that the main benefits of this scheme are:
• 20 point bonus in prequalification. With this, the beneficiaries will only need 1,060 points to access a home purchase loan or payment of liabilities (without this bonus the score is 1,080).
• Age factor at 75 years. In all the financing options offered by Infonavit that are in force, the age of the beneficiaries to request their credit may not be greater than 75 years (for men this factor is 70 years).
