Members of the National Police, who were carrying out control and surveillance operations in the municipality of Soacha, stopped a vehicle that contained 642 kilos of marijuana.
According to the authorities, the hallucinogen was packaged in 214 pressed blocks that were camouflaged inside the truck.
According to information provided by the National Police, the seized drug would even serve to 650,000 doses and it would be valued at 2,000 million pesos.
The seizure of the 642 kilos of marijuana occurred when members of the Police carried out patrol work. The uniformed officers observed the suspicious movements of a truck-type vehicle to which they signaled to stop.
The driver of the vehicle ignored it, accelerating the car into a ravine, according to the police. The uniformed men carried out a pursuit until they found the truck; Nevertheless, When the driver was cornered, he fled.
Authorities continue the search to locate and prosecute the man who was driving the truck loaded with marijuana.
“We continue to hit crime, these operations continue to be replicated throughout the city so that criminals do not feel comfortable in Soacha,” said the Secretary of Government of the municipality, Danny Caicedo.
The vehicle and the seized merchandise will remain at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office, which will carry out the pertinent investigations of the case.

The packages were apparently camouflaged in panels used for cooling systems.
This operation, in charge of the Citizen Security Operational Command through the Sijin of the Santander Police, was carried out thanks to the information obtained through technical controls and human sources.
“The police units through registration and control activities and thanks to the skill, training in drug detection and expertise of the binomial made up of the guide and his canine Audrey, they registered the vehicle testing positive for alkaloid”, Explained Colonel Wilson Parada, commander of the Santander Police.
“Inside the panels were found 563 large packages and 47 small rectangular-shaped packages, packed with tape and brown plastic,” he added.
In the operation, the authorities captured the driver of the vehicle who was accused of the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and / or carrying drugs. The subject and the vehicle involved were left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office.
After the hearings to legalize the capture and indictment were held, a judge issued a custodial measure for the truck driver.
According to the authorities, the shipment of marijuana would be valued at approximately 1,500 million pesos.
