When is IFA 2023?
As with some other events, the days at this fair are divided into some focused on the press and others where it is open to the general public. In 2023, the global press will meet on August 30 and 31, while the opening to the public will be from September 1 to 5.
This edition marks IFA’s 99th event and will be one of the biggest shows in history, with every inch of space sold to exhibitors from across the consumer electronics industry.
What to expect at IFA 2023?
While we expect the biggest announcements to happen during the show itself, trailers are beginning to appear that give us a better idea of what to expect.
Honor, for example, has been previewing its Unfold Tomorrow event that will take place at the show. The name suggests we’ll see some foldable smartphone action from the brand, most likely a global launch of the Magic V2.
However, some rumors say that we will see the introduction of a foldable phone similar to the trend of flips in recent months, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 or the moto razr 40 ultra.
Samsung just launched its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 devices, along with its Galaxy Tab S9 range of tablets, so we’re not expecting much mobile tech from the Korean giant at IFA 2023. Last year, however, the brand launched its Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor, so there may be more monitors or TVs in play for this year’s event.
For its part, Sony has a main event at IFA on August 31, but we don’t know exactly what to expect from it. While LG pointed out that at the fair they will have a focus on sustainability.
It should be noted that the South Korean brand launched its 97-inch LG G2 Evo OLED and its LG OLED Flex, the first flexible OLED TV, at the IDA 2022 edition. It also showcased some quirky and innovative smart home products, including the LG Styler Shoecase and Shoecare and the color-changing LG MoodUp refrigerator.
