To celebrate your 135th anniversarythe company has announced a promotion that is too tempting for those with a sweet tooth: half a kilo of cinnamon mantecados at a single price of only five pesetas.
And that price is literal, since you can only get the sweet lot if you present a hard coin, one of the old pesetas, since that is where the meaning of the tribute to the long history of the brand lies. Under the motto of “Good things never change”, La Antequerana wants remember the old price what their mantecados cost more than a century ago.
Prices have risen a lot since then, but the original product, they defend, has not changed. Now the firm works with much more technologically advanced facilities, but keeping the original recipe, the quality and origin of the ingredients. Mechanization allows us to improve efficiency, traceability and quality standards, without losing the traditional flavor.
Mantecados to hard, only this Thursday
Anyone who has hard coins at home and wants to take advantage of this promotion will have to come next Thursday Nov. 16 to the physical store of La Antequerana located in the cafeteria on Merecillas street in Antequera.
Only one purchase per person is allowed, while stocks last of the planned 135 kilos, and the only payment allowed will be the five peseta coin, whatever the season. No change of any kind will be given.
The double cinnamon shortbreads are one of the star products of La Antequerana, especially at Christmas. Each 40 g unit features two wrapped shortbreads with the traditional papelillo, and are made with wheat flour, Iberian pork lard, sugar, Ceylon cinnamon and aroma. Its usual price, available for online purchase, is 14.40 euros per kilo.
