If you recently bought a mobile phone, you may be consuming a lot more battery of what you need. Very few users are noticing, but the fact that buy a 5G mobile at these times it may result in an overall worse user experience. In Pro Android we carry several 5G mobiles on our backs and the same thing happens with all of them: if you deactivate the 5G network, the battery consumption is low. This network is faster in some occasions, but in others it can cause your battery to drain faster than normal. Today we tell you how to save a lot of battery in a new mobile without having to give up anything. Or almost nothing.
Do you need 5G in your day to day? Deactivate it!
It is likely that your new mobile have 5G but you have not chosen it for this feature. Most of the new smartphones that are launched on the market already have support for this type of network. By default it is activated and from time to time you will see that the coverage is 5G.
Unfortunately, if you do a speed test, you will see that it is not much faster than a standard 4G LTE network. This is because 5G networks support incredible speed, but the antenna network still does not offer that much speed. The bottom line is that you use a network that consumes more power and that is not giving you a much better result.
The reality is, it may be making your battery last less every day. The difference could be remarkable, between 15 and 20% daily if you are away from home for a long time. Our recommendation is that you try to deactivate it.
It is very likely that when you are away from home you will be over and enough with a stable connection to a 4G LTE network, so Disabling the 5G network will allow you to squeeze a little more autonomy from your smartphone.
Despite the fact that manufacturers insist on praising 5G, the reality is that it still does not offer a real and substantial improvement on today’s smartphones. If you want to save a good amount of battery every day, our recommendation is that you deactivate it.
How to disable 5G to put 4G LTE
All Android devices on the market have an option to select which networks you want to use. You just need to enter the settings, the device, in the networks section and in ‘Preferred networks’. It is in that section where you can choose which networks you want to use. Simply select 4G LTE and not 5G.
With this your device will connect only to 4G LTE networks and will consume less battery.
