One of the most notable functions of WhatsApp is the possibility of deleting one or more messages for all the members of the chat. The platform also allows you to delete that message only for the person who sent it. On some occasions, however, users tend to make a mistake and click on the button called ‘Delete for me’, instead of the ‘Delete for everyone’, which is located just above it. The app owned by Meta, luckily, has included a fix in your latest update: a new button that allows you to retrieve the message.
This new button to redo the accidental deletion action, specifically, will be displayed at the bottom of the screen when the user presses the ‘delete for me’ action that appears when they want to delete a message. This one, yes will be active for five secondsenough time to click on the ‘Redo’ option and, later, be able to delete the message for everyone.
WhatsApp has confirmed that the feature is now available for both iOS and Android users; apparently, without a previous update. In any case, to delete a message for everyone, instead of just for the person who sent it, all you have to do is hold down on that text and click on the ‘Delete’ option that appears at the bottom, and finally , click ‘Delete for all’.
WhatsApp also works on the possibility of editing messages
In parallel, WhatsApp is developing a function that will allow previously sent messages to be edited, something that is already possible on some messaging platforms, such as iMessages. The app, as revealed wabetainfo, will show a button when clicking on a specific chat. The text from that chat will reappear in the text box so the user can correct a typo, misspelling, or even redo the entire sentence. Subsequently, the sender must click on ‘Send’ again and WhatsApp will replace the message.
The messaging app owned by Meta, apparently, it will not display an edit history. Therefore, the recipient will not be able to see what was previously written unless they entered the chat in time. Nor does it seem that the platform displays a badge as that message has been edited, as it does with Slack or Discord. It is also not clear if WhatsApp will apply a time limit to edit that message.
