illumination
The reading corner must have enough natural light, so it is advisable to put it next to the window or under a dome or skylight.
Placing the armchair in front of the window will allow you to sunbathe while you read and will avoid distractions with other elements of the home.
You should also place a lamp, since there is not always time to read during the day.

Choose a good floor lamp, with enough height so that the light falls above your head.
If the lamp has a mobile arm or is addressable, much better.
In case the house does not have too many windows, the lamp can solve the lack of natural light.
The reading corner can also be located in a corner of the kitchen, if there is space between the breakfast bar, which will allow you to read in the morning with a good cup of coffee.
Footrest
A good complement to the chair is the footrest, which will allow you to rest while sitting without necessarily lying down.
The footrest can be a furry, woven or natural fiber pouf such as wicker.
A padded stool is also a good alternative for stretching out comfortably.
You can also place a side table to leave the book, the glasses, the cup of tea and the telephone.
It does not necessarily have to be a complementary table, it can be a pouf, a wicker basket or a trunk.
Finally, placing a mini rug at the foot will give the final touch to this space.
Remember that if your budget is not very large, the architect Darcie Watson proposes conditioning the reading space on the floor with a rug or a piece of carpet with a lot of cushions, since looking at things from the floor allows you to see them from another angle.
